In the fall of 2009 my daughter (Midori) and I took our first ever trip to New York City.We saw the Statue Of Liberty, Ellis Island and Time Square. We walked through Soho, China Town and Central Park. We visited where the twin towers once were and the memorial for the lives that were lost. So much to see in the three days we were there. The last place we went was the Smithsonian National Museum of American Indians. What a treat ! ! On display were beautiful dresses, boots, and bags made by native American Indian women. I was in awe of the thousands and thousands of beads that were sewn on the gorgeous tribal dresses. On our way out we stopped in the museum gift shop. Score ! I found these incredible molas handmade by Kuna women. I bought two of them thinking down the road I would add them to a bag. I thought they would make a great focal point.
It took me nearly two years but the bags are done. They turned out fabulous :o) I am excited because we are taking aanother trip to the Big Apple this April. I am hoping to find more of these beautiful molas while we are there so I can use them on my Totes.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOING ? ? ?
Trying to eat healthy. I've also been going back to the gym. Not as much as I would like though.
I made a few things for myself.Of course if I have it my girls want it to. I have to make one for each of them to. I made these bleach tie dyed jeans like the ones I had in the 80's.
and i've been trying to stay focused and get a bunch of stuff made for my upcoming shows.I am actually very motivated right know and came up with even more NEW designs. I'll take some picks SOON. Stop back and check them out :0)
I am a mother of 5 great kids and three cute cats. I have the most wonderful husband who is my biggest fan and bestest friend. I try to live a simple life and surround myself with positive supporting friends and family.I have always been artsy and love to create things. I also enjoy crossword puzzles and reading. I love all animals which is apparent in the designs I do for my bags, but my favorites are turtles, elephants and owls. My kids inspire me daily even though they are mostly grown, I still feel like I learn so much from them, they are what I was put on this earth to do and having them and raising them was the most important job I ever had and I love every minute of it.
