Ahhhh, it's time to enjoy the holiday season.
After months of preparation (sewing, creating, and packaging), the arts and craft show season has wound to an end. Last night was my last event with my annual open house. Every year I clean up my house, bake some homemade cookies and set up my shop in my home. I invite friends and my regular customers in to my home so they can pick out gifts for their loved ones. It's one of my favorite things to do each year. I enjoy spending time with each and everyone while offering a more personal shopping experience . Thank you to all who stopped by. Merry Christmas !

With just a week to go it's not to late to pick up something handmade by Mary Moon. There are several shops around town who carry my work. I plan to restock each location this week for your final shopping needs before the big day.

What The Rock ?! in the Short North carry my little zippy bags,
Wholly Craft in Clintonville offers a wide selection of purses zippies and wristlets
A Gal Named Cinda Lou in Westerville has pencil bags made with vintage fabric,
and pop up shops Celebrate Local and Global Gallery at Easton Town Center have wristlets and purses.

Open Door Studios in Granview has just started carrying my products as well.

If your in the Yellow Springs area you can find wristlets, bags and skirts at Urban Handmade.

Then of course there is my Etsy shop, which is open all year round. Stop in often to see my latest creations.

Independents' Day picks
My daughters came to the show with me. They hung out at the tent ,went on walks with me and had their picture taken.
B was thrilled !
At the Columbus Alive tent they were offering FREE t-shirts. All you had to do is write in your answer to the question and let them take a pic
The shirts were designed by Make Believe Monsters. B loves their designs and owns several of their tees. She was happy to add another one to her collection.

June 21st maybe the summer solstice , that is the first day of summer
but this weekend is when you know summer is really here
COMFEST 2011

It's hard to believe it's that time again. This upcoming weekend is a big one for me. It will officially be ten consecutive years being a vendor at this show. That's right, one full decade !

Comfest has always been the one big show I look forward to each year. So much is going on in the park. There's music, there's art, they have food and lots of great activities.
I was practically a newby in the arts and crafts when I started vending at this show. I created a lot of stuff but mostly for family, friends and myself. I had just actually began building an inventory for display and for sales.
Over the past decade my medium has definitely changed and my work and style has evolved as well. I can't tell you how many times someone has said " do you still make ....., I bought one from you before at this show. I have to respond with, "sorry, my work has changed. I no longer make .... anymore. For know I am a designer and creator of wearable art (bags and purses) but who knows what I will get into in the next decade to come.

What I love most about Comfest are the people. Comfest brings together a unique blend and variety of vendors, artists, musicians, volunteers, and of course the audience. Everyone is so friendly and happy to be there. I have met so many kind, supportive and positive people. The kind of people who understand my work and encourage me to continue in my path as an artist.

Happy Comfest Everyone ! ! !

My friends the Crafty Cotillion, Craftin' Outlaws and Wholly Craft are hosting an exciting event here in Columbus, Ohio. They have reached out to craft fair organizers, store owners, bloggers, and others in the craft community to hold the first ever Midwest Craft Caucus.
The event has a little bit of everything and a lot to offer.
There will be a plethora of panels, presentations and workshops for anyone in the business.
Then for the fans of handmade, join us at Wild Goose Creative for the Showcase Showdown where they will be having a celebration featuring vendors, games (with prizes), swag bags, and the popular Craft Corner Deathmatch(as featured at Craftin' Outlaws).

Throw in the Columbus Arts Festival, the Short Norths Gallery Hop and the North Markets Artisan Sunday and you will have the best weekend of the year to shop for unique one-of-a-kind treasures.

Hope to see ya there :o)

Me and The family went to the Columbus Museum Of Art ...........

as members we were able to get a sneak peak of the newly renovated space.

My children have all spent a lot of time at the museum over the years. They have always enjoyed the doodles art classes and the weekend drop in events. What a great place to not only view the art but learn a little about it and apply it to a fun project.

The day we went we where able to do a little creating in the brand new art room.
